Parcel delivery is an extremely convenient, reliable and safe way for you to get your packages from point A to point B on time. Although the Postal Service does a good job of delivering packages, sometimes you need a parcel delivery service to make sure your package and shipment gets exactly where it's going to go, on time.
Can you imagine where we would be without any of the parcel delivery services and companies?
Packages began to be delivered in the 1700s by the US Postal Service, but in 1852, Wells Fargo and other parcel shipping companies began to be established in the United States.
UPS United Parcel Service) was founded in 1907 and is perhaps the largest of the three major carriers, FedEx (Federal Express) and DHL being the others. FedEx was established in April of 1973, and is known for its guaranteed overnight delivery.
DHL, the third of the major carriers, was established in 1969 and was acquired by Deutsche Post in 2002. It specializes in shipping documents and freight. It partners with the USPS (United States Postal Service), in some cases, for delivery of small packages. It also fostered international air express, which reduces both cost and delivery time, so that customers are given both less expensive and more rapid delivery of goods and documents.
Today, because of technology and modern efficiency, these package delivery services guarantee that we get our documents, goods and packages on time and fast -- quite a change from the old days of transport by horse and buggy.
